Summary: This article explains deep details about fake news. The author claims that there are two types of fake news, such as misinformation and disinformation. Both of them have different meanings, but the way they spread and affect people through the media is not much different. However, it has been suggested that the best way to maintain safety is by knowing how to spot fake news and consider news properly.
Reaction: Nowadays, I believe countless people are already aware of fake news, but sometimes it is still hard to recognize it. For example, my mom always told me to be careful, but sometimes she got deceived by it herself. In my point of view, if we want to decrease the number of victims, I think starting with all schools teaching their students how to spot fake news as basic knowledge would be a great idea.
Question: Most of the fake news is on social media, so how much can we trust it? What will we do if fake news develops a new way to trick people? How can I make sure that after learning how to spot fake news, I won't be tricked?

ReplyDeleteAfter I have read this article, I found myself understand more about fake news and how to read or scan it properly. Surprisingly, my mom is also like your mom I mean exactly the same when it comes to news hahaha. I also strongly agree with you that awareness should be raise in people mind since we are a child and this media literacy skill should be considered as one of a subject in school.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of fake news on social media, I could see like 10 fake news on my social media per day. These days, news is really hard to to trust I think the best way is to patiently wait to hear from the official news website or from the trustful sources.
Thankyou, for your idea. I would also wait patiently to hear from the official too.
